Description

Growing up in Maplewood, NJ (exit 143), Austin was a member of many baseball, soccer, and math teams. He went on to fulfill a Pre-Med and Psychology program at Williams College (Class of 2003) where he captained the baseball team and played soccer.

Since graduating college, Austin has been teaching at Greenwich Country Day School, where he has taught math and science; coached baseball, basketball, and soccer; coordinated grade levels and service projects; and chaired the science department. He is currently teaching biology, coaching baseball, and coordinating service at the Upper School. Austin has enjoyed preparing Carnegie Prep students for various college preparatory exams, including the ACT and the SAT, since 2004.

Austin and his wife live in Greenwich and enjoy adventuring each summer, whether biking the West Coast, hiking in Iceland, or building a school in Ghana. Currently, they are in the midst of a different type of adventure altogether – negotiating with their intrepid children, trying to avoid the ER, and learning the ropes of school from a parent’s perspective.
